Greg was born and raised in Riverside, California. He worked for about a year as a dispatcher for the California Division of Forestry in Riverside. Greg lived in northern California for three years and attended Yuba College while working part time for a Drywall and Paint Company.
Greg married his wife, Cathy, in 1978 and they returned to Riverside in 1979. He started working for a larger construction company and gained valuable experience and training. After several years of working for local construction companies, Greg became very knowledgeable in the areas of painting and drywall, plumbing, electrical, tile work, and brick and stone work.
In the mid 1980's, Greg worked as a Superintendent for a large drywall repair company. As his family grew from one child to four, he decided to design plans to add to his family's 1929 home. After Greg's plans were approved, he went to work, adding a beautiful master bedroom/bath and family room.
After working for five years with another local contractor, Greg wanted to open his own business. He obtained his General Contractor's license in 2001 and established Maxwell Construction Company. Since that time, Greg has established himself as a very reliable and knowledgeable contractor with an artistic flair. His clients find him extremely personable and a contractor that they respect and trust. Most of Greg's work comes from client referrals.
Greg is the proud father of four adult children and three Rat Terriers. He is also a mosaic artist and enjoys exhibiting his work. Greg's art has been chosen for fund raising events by the Riverside Art Museum, the Riverside Community Art Association, the Riverside County Department of Animal Services and the Riverside Arts Council. In 2007, Greg and his wife, Cathy, were commissioned by the City of Riverside to design and create mosaic art on a 5 foot giant orange that was a gift to Sendai, Japan, Riverside's oldest Sister City. In 2013, Greg, Cathy and their daughter, Erin, designed and created a 43 foot by 8 foot mosaic mural for the Arc of Riverside County www.arcriverside.org.
The Maxwells enjoy sailing their Hobie Cat, kayaking, snorkeling in Maui and working in their art studio www.maxwellmosaics.com.
